How was your experience with the doctor? My brother referred me to Dr. Lorman a few years ago after a bad experience with a dentist from another practice. Dr. Lorman fit me into his schedule that day to fix the work, and I haven't looked back since.

How was your experience with the doctor?I have been a patient of Dr. Lorman for years and highly recommend his practice.  I work nearby in Midtown and his office is very convenient.  The receptionists are friendly and always very accommodating, including when I need to see the dentist on short notice.  Before the dentists perform any work, the receptionist comes in and tell you how much the procedure will cost and what insurance will cover.  This prevents any surprises when the bill comes.  Dr. Lorman is friendly, professional and gentle.  Dr. Moskowitz is also excellent.  The only negative experience I once had was with a hygienist who was extremely rough and abrasive.  No other issues.

How was your experience with the doctor?I've had my share of bad experiences at the dentist. From the guy who managed to kill a nerve in my cheek, so the one who charged over $4000 for a root canal and crown before telling me there was still $18000 worth of work to do in my mouth. But none of that describes Dr Lorman in any way! The entire staff is nothing but helpful and courteous. I've found him to be extremely attentive, concerned about pain and how I feel, open to questions and just generally extremely helpful and courteous. I've read other reviews and that is what has promoted me to speak about my extremely positive experience. I have going to the dentist, but with him as my dentist I feel that I am in extremely good and competent hands.

How was your experience with the doctor? If I could give 0 stars I would.  It has taken me over 2 years to write this review because I was so traumatized by the experience I had with Dr. Lorman.  I went to his office because I had a terrible toothache and he is located near my office.  He performed a root canal and also put a crown on the same tooth.  The pain that I experienced during the root canal was like nothing I have ever experienced before.  I was crying in the dentist chair.  I have had my share of dental work throughout my life and never had an experience like this.  I was never afraid to go to a dentist until then. When I complained about the pain he became irritated with me and made me feel like I was being a drama queen.  Luckily I have found a great dentist who not only makes me feel comfortable, but does wonderful work.  I am happy that I was able to recover from this. I will never return to that dental office again.  I can barely walk by the building without getting flashbacks of that horrible day.

How was your experience with the doctor?I am surprised at the low rating! I visit this office twice a year at the 245 Park Avenue location. I try to get the 8AM appointment but those book up the fastest. Everyone has been very nice and attentive. I'm usually in and out in less than an hour.

How was your experience with the doctor?Aviod this place at all cost!! Similar experience as other patients - I had to do a root canal before Thanksgiving break. The office is very close to my workplace so I went. He finished the examination + root canal in less than 30 minutes. The day after I received the treatment, the pain continued but I thought it was normal. No it was not. I traveled to Houston for family reunion. The pain worsened, and for about four days, I couldn't sleep at night. The day before Thanksgiving day I had to go to a dental office because my face started swell really bad! The dentist there helped me clean up the infection which has been sealed up for a week!! He said Lorman really did a lousy job. The pain was gone the next day. I was lucky enough to enjoy the leftover turkey. I tried to be nice at the second visit when I came back to the city to finish up the root canal. I demanded Derario. He was very defensive when I brought up the issue. Not only did he not address any of my painful experience, Derario walked away like it is not their problem. To quote him: "Did the doctor in Houston see what was going on when your tooth opened up the first time?" Duh!! He saw something a lot worse!!!They send personal greetings to you in mail trying to keep you as their client. I trashed them right away. I will never go back.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr. Michael Lorman has treated me for a long time.  He is very professional and is continually improving his skills by staying on top of all the newest procedures.  He has done several crowns for me over the years without a problem.  His dental skills and chair side manner are of the highest level. When I started to get a heavy build-up of plaque he included me in a study using a new product.  It is a natural plant extract and FDA approved for use in foodstuffs.  He did this for me free of charge because on his interest in my well being.  Naturally, I had a very good response.  He is a wonderful dentist.

How was your experience with the doctor?I recently had an emergency, a cracked wisdom tooth.  The office was extremely accommodating and Dr. Lorman was extremely professional.  He was thorough with his explanations and took his time to ensure all was OK and that he resolved my issue.  He also called me one hour later to see my progress.I was happy with his services.

How was your experience with the doctor?I have a very similar review as Chrissy D.  I too had a crown about 9 months ago which turned into two root canals, improper fillings and today the "permanent" crown popped off when i was flossing.  My new dentist said it was not attached with permanent glue and the filling underneath was also still a temporary filling.  He is a nice guy, but I would never recomend going to him.  I spent months meeting him at his office with him trying to adjust the crown bite that is still not correct.  I will end up getting a new crown and pay out of pocket since insurance will not cover the same crown for another three years since it was done so badly.

How was your experience with the doctor?Doctor Lorman is very nice but i wouldn't trust him to do real dental work.  I too had a bad experience with a root canal / crown.  I ended up having to get all replaced by my new dentist.  Which not only added cost but could have been potentially damaging as there was decay under the crown Lorman had completed (less then a year later).  If you just need a cleaning he is totally fine but I would not trust him with anything more.  He also butchered my husbands teeth.

How was your experience with the doctor?Today was my first appointment with Dr. Lorman and I'm just amazed. For the past 10 years, I've never left a dentist's office without crying either during or after the appointment.. I've had the WORST experience with dentists. Dr. Lorman, however, was so friendly, explained to me exactly what he was doing at each step of the visit, and was extremely thorough. Today was the first time I haven't cried at the dentist's office, and Dr. Lorman is the reason for that. I highly recommend him and actually can't wait to go back for a cleaning next week!

How was your experience with the doctor?I was very surprised to see a negative review on Dr. Lorman.  I've been going to see Dr. Lorman in his 200 W. 57th Street office for over 2 years.  He's very nice and thorough.  And I know a thing or two about scam artist dentists.  My previous dentist claimed I had several cavities (prior to which I never had a cavity in my whole life) and needed several fillings.  Thankfully, I got a second opinion about 5-6 months later and the dentist told me that I had no cavities!  A year later, I moved and Dr. Loman was my new dentist.  I still have no cavities. So, given that past experience, I was understandably a bit cautious about dentists.  But, Dr. Lorman put me at ease.  After my inital exam, I inquired about invisalign (I had been considering it for a small gap between my two front teeth and my insurance covered a good part of it).  One thing that really made me trust him is that he didn't push me into getting them.  He let me think about it and take my time.  I had to go back every two weeks and he did a very good job of checking to make sure sure that everything was OK.  I still have my great smile with perfect straight teeth! :)The one thing that could be better: His staff tends to be a bit snarky.  I am not sure why they always seem so upset.  I really wish they were a bit more cordial and polite and a little less curt.
