Alexandra Barnett, PhD (Brooklyn Office) is a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) consultant at the Center for Anxiety. She is a certified PCIT Level 1 trainer working towards her Level 2 certification with Master Trainer Dr. Steven Kurtz as a postdoctoral fellow at Kurtz Psychology Consulting PC. Dr. Barnett completed her doctoral work in clinical child psychology at DePaul University where she focused on training, coaching, and consulting with parents and teachers to manage disruptive childhood behaviors, and conducted the first pilot study using random assignment of Universal Teacher-Child Interaction Training (TCIT-U) in partnership with Chicago Head Start preschools. Her clinical approach helps parents build concrete skills to improve attachment and connection with young children (ages 2-7), while effectively managing problematic behaviors.
