Approach

Dr. Eleswarapu is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine specialist. Originally from New Jersey, he attended college at Columbia University, followed by medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, residency at the University of Chicago, and fellowship at the University of California Davis. He is the author of several published manuscripts and textbook chapters and has presented his research at national meetings. "Dr. E" - as his patients affectionately call him - employs an old-fashioned approach to medicine, taking the time to get to know each patient's unique story. He works closely with colleagues in physical medicine, pain management, and sports medicine. A non-surgical treatment course is recommended in over 90% of new patient visits. When surgery is the best option, the goal is to perform it in the safest, least invasive manner possible. In all cases, surgical and non-surgical, Dr. Eleswarapu strives to treat each patient with dignity and respect, as if they were his own family.

How was your experience with the doctor?Had some intermitting severe upper neck pain for a while and after not being able to sleep (worse lying down.) Bad enough that I Made an appt for Dr. Ananth Eleswarapu, MD Orthopedic Surgeon, Spine Specialist at the Spine Care NYC  110 Duane Street, Main Floor, New York, NY, 10007Nice place, nice people.  Answered a lot of questions, Nurse checked motor functions apparently to rule out spinal cord issues, though no symptom I mentioned would indicate such.  Range of motion checked.  Got some X-Rays which did not show anything. Not a hand or a Doctor examining my neck.  Which is what I came for.Was referred to MRI center with an order for an MRI and that I should return with the MRI or choose a preferred vendor, one that they could access online, and then I could see a doctor.Left as I came but with work to perform before I can see the doctor that I made the appointment to see.
