How was your experience with the doctor?Very necessary update. I will be switching practices immediately for the following reasons.1. The previously mentioned surgery blood test incident.2. The next year, I contacted the office prior to my physical to ask if I could have my blood panels run ahead of the exam so I could discuss any results with my doctor. I was told that I would need my insurance to okay this before they could schedule the blood draw, so I contacted my insurance and got the okay from them and called back to make an appointment. When I arrived, I found that I had just had my entire physical rescheduled without my consent. In contrast with what I was told over the phone, in person, the office staff told me that they do not ever run blood panels ahead of the physical because there's no guarantee that insurance will cover it. So the person on the phone either didn't know what they were talking about or they lied just to to me to get me off the phone.3. Last year, I arrived for my physical only to have a strange doctor enter the room. Turns out my primary care doctor had left the practice and I had not been informed, which is completely unprofessional.4. I just went to make an appointment for my physical this year and it appears that my new primary care doctor has ALSO left the practice without my receiving any notification. Again, absolutely inappropriate and unprofessional on the part of the practice.5. Also, the practice uses text notifications for everything, which is more or less fine, except they appear to send all notifications to all patients, which has repeatedly resulted in me (a healthy, mid-30s female) getting notifications about stress tests, shortness of breath, and other cardiac symptoms, which is frankly unnecessary. It's unfortunate that the administration of this practice is so poor, because I've had some great doctors here. But enough is enough. I'm done.

How was your experience with the doctor?Untrustworthy and careless.I have been going to Yaffe Ruden for three years and I am appalled by recent experiences with this office. First, I went in to the office complaining of heart palpitations. They ordered me an EKG and an ultrasound of my heart. They called me a week later to inform me that I had a bicuspid aortic valve--an untreatable structural abnormality of the heart. They told me that while I did not have to see a doctor, they recommended that I see a cardiologist with Manhattan Cardiology (now the same office as Yaffe Ruden). I did. The nurse came in to tell me about the bicuspid aortic valve and told me that the cardiologist wouldn't be able to speak with me today due to the fact that he was running behind schedule. This was unbelievable to me, as I had booked the appointment only to speak with him. But she was ready to send me on my way. I insisted on staying. The cardiologist finally came in to speak and when he did, as he was showing me my scans, he suggested that we do another ultrasound which he performed right then and there. He then told me I was MISDIAGNOSED and that I actually had a normal, tricuspid aortic valve.Of course, they still charged me for both ultrasounds and visits. I would have gone on thinking for years that I had a heart defect. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, I have found it incredibly difficult to get my test results back from this office when I have blood work or stool tests run. This past week I went in and had to get stool tests run on a Tuesday. I called on Friday morning to get my results and the front desk told me that my results were in and the physician would call me back that day. Then I called at lunch. Same answer. Then I called at 5:50, ten minutes before closing, and I was told most of the physicians had left and that I could call back tomorrow. I really needed the antibiotic before the weekend so I practically begged the front desk to have the last remaining physician call me quickly before he left the office to give me my results. I waited and waited, no call. I have been sick for two weeks and they don't have the decency to take 5-10 minutes to review my results and get back to me on a Friday before the weekend. Today is Saturday, I have called for the fourth time, got the same response, and still have not heard back from them. Their website boasts, "in our office it's you and us versus the medical issue." When no physician in the office can take five minutes to review a simple lab result for a while 24 hours so that I can get the medication I need to start feeling better, I can't believe this statement is true.

How was your experience with the doctor?I had been a patient of Dr. Bikhman for about 10 years. Even though I hadn't seen Dr. Bikhman in a few years and was always seen by PAs, I always had a great experience here. But, Dr. Bikhman left and I was never notified. How can you not let patients know that their PCP is gone? I am now going back to Dr. Bikhman at her new practice.I last went to this office for my annual physical. I was there for almost 2 hours. I was first seen by a nurse and then a PA in training and then the actual PA. The room was freezing and the nurse had trouble finding supplies she needed for the exam as the room wasn't stocked. The student PA I saw did not have any bedside manner and made a few comments about my weight and continued to give me "diet" tips. My weight has never been brought up in a physical exam without me bringing it up first. When the actual PA came in, she said nothing about my weight. So, is it an issue or not? After the exam, I had to go back into the waiting room to wait again to get blood work and give a urine sample. I was ushered back into another room that was cramped and crowded and not a pleasant place to give blood. I was then given a cup to give a urine sample. After I finished, I went to wash my hands and there was no soap in the bathroom. Ladies, you know that giving a urine sample is NOT a clean process.I left the room not being able to wash my hands and when I handed the cup to the nurse and mentioned that there was no soap in the bathroom, she responded with, "OK." No apology or offer of hand sanitizer. Nothing. To top it off, I had to cancel a spin class I signed up for because I was running so behind after that appointment. So for all that talk about my weight, this office made me cancel an exercise class. This place has never felt like a small office to me but it ran well and I had never had any issues before this.

How was your experience with the doctor? The wait was about 25 minutes, but I didn’t mind considering his wonderful office staff got me a same day appointment. Dr. Yaffe was kind, courteous, very friendly yet professional. He got me the medication I needed, explaining how it would work, and what the time line for recovery looked like from my GI issue. He also gave me a plan B- to come in for an endoscopy in a weeks time if my issue does not resolve. Really wonderful to have such a great experience. Not many doctors these days balance such experienced medical practice, with fantastic bedside manner. Dr. Yaffe most certainly did! I hope I never need to go back, but if I ever do- I will Know I’m in the best hands!

How was your experience with the doctor?Honestly the worst medical practice. Go elsewhere before you get sucked in. It used to be a great medical practice about 10 years ago. It is now a factory... impossible to get anyone on the phone for a follow-up and one's results are delivered via a receptionist phone call who cannot and should not answer any questions one may have. I called to have a generic called in to my pharmacist about a week ago and am still waiting. They do not follow up and do not care. Fill-em and bill-em is the motto here.

How was your experience with the doctor?Even worse than before. Do not trust your health to these greedy scumbags. I've had 3 consecutive PCPs leave this practice in the past year. There is quite frankly not one redeeming quality about this practice anymore. They'd probably let you drop dead where you stand for 50 cents in profit.

How was your experience with the doctor?I went for a visit when I wasn't feeling well (I had a cough that worsened when moving in certain positions, swollen neck, fatigue, shortness of breath) and was told I simply had a back drip and that my neck wasn't swollen. Two days later I went to a city MD office because I still just didn't feel right and didn't like how the doctor has just shrugged off my symptoms/denied my neck being swollen. City MD was wonderful, agreed my neck looked swollen and suggested it could be a thyroid issue. They took blood work and when it came back abnormal they even went so far as to schedule me an endocrinologist appointment. In the end I had cancer (Non-Hodgkin lymphoma) and if I hadn't sought a second opinion immediately after being at Yaffe & Ruden I would likely be dead. Also, my neck being swollen was called SVC syndrome, which 90% of the time is caused by cancer. Furthermore, I had a cancerous lymph node on the left side of my neck that could easily be felt. Many weeks later, I called the doctor I had seen to let her know that my "back drip" ended up being lymphoma, just in case she has patients with similar symptoms and she was rather trite and rude about it. I'd recommend NOT going here.

How was your experience with the doctor? It's the way I imagine how medical care is provided  in a poor third world country. Indifference, lack of followup, perfunctory evaluation lacking in comprehensiveness, shabby waiting room portends the shabby care to be provided.Go elsewhere!

How was your experience with the doctor? It's a factory. It used to be a great place before it became a mega-store. Now it's just an assembly plant.  No doctor is allowed to spend more than 17 minutes with one patient. After that it becomes a money losing situation. It's a scary place. Things fall through the cracks. There's no genuine human compassion. You're in. You're out. It's a sausage factory. No thorough follow ups. Nobody calls. Nobody seems to genuinely care. Drs Yaffe & Ruden only see concierge patients. The ones willing to pay the extra $3k a year for private club fees.  I dunno. This place is old school NYC. People now want and need real connections. And nobody will find that here. Sadly.

How was your experience with the doctor?I had a negative experience with the lack of organization and respect to the patience time. They are very busy so if something slipped through the cracks their attitude will be "Sorry" with a fake smile and that's it.It was a waste of an hour for me and they told me that I am out of network after they confirmed via phone a day earlier that I am in network.

How was your experience with the doctor?I pine for my childhood days of going to my GP. Yaffe Ruden has excellent Doctors who spend time and get down to the nitty gritty and resolve my issues if any. However there is a Doctor there who as a specialist prescribed a regimen that included several prescriptions to compliment several thing I needed to do physically. When the meds affected me I immediately halted them and and called the Dr who was unavailable or on vacation. His alternate was unable to advise me (not a doctor) so I had to see another Dr at the practice at my expense to undo the damage. The 65th Street office is a horrible warren of 3rd world rooms in an underground bunker (formerly a restaurant). When dealing with specialist from this practice I try to make appointments at their practices instead eliminating the need for Yafee Ruden offices. Note this practice encourages seeing other Doctors and prescribes a multitude of optional tests that they don't generally check if your insurance and your on the hook for it later. Also beware the Physician Assistant scam - I was to take a blood test and arrived thinking I was getting it done by an individual. That person was a PA who wanted to give me a check up before sending me to another room where blood tests were performed by onsite lab. I was previously checked the day before by my Doctor who prescibed the blood test. Now when I am prescribed to take a test I steadfastly insist I will not work with PA prior to a test. This works - don't get scammed!

How was your experience with the doctor?Whenever I go to Dr. Yaffe for my yearly physical exam I'm always confident that he will advise me, take time to see how I am in my life away from illnesses and physical complaints and then provide a holistic approach to my health and wellness.  This has been a relief after years or searching for physicians who usually rush patients in and out, treat symptoms and don't look into the whole picture of an individual.  Presently, I'm experiencing the impending loss of my Dad after years of a dementia like Alzheimer's.  Dr. Yaffe accommodated my demanding schedule, talked to me for a long time and assured me like he always does that I'm in great shape, but also that he understands what I'm going through.  The support of an MD at times like this is really invaluable and comforting. I received my lab results the Thursday after the Monday of my appointment and know which vitamin I'm slightly lacking and will book my next Physical a year from now.The office staff is always very patient, helpful and accommodating (this time with an unforeseen insurance issue related to the Affordable Care Act).  I foresee myself continuing to consult with Dr. Yaffe and his associates.  The waiting room is huge and full of light and plants, however, I usually don't wait long for appointments compared to other large offices.  I come from a family of doctors and have a good feeling about this office - better than any other one with a large team that I have known in New York City.

How was your experience with the doctor?I think it's helpful to start by saying that my visits with Dr. Yaffe were pleasant. However, the majority of experiences I have had with the billing department have been horribly confusing, and most times, altogether dissatisfying due to incorrect billing. Since Yaffe, Ruden and Associates offers a plethora of phone numbers online, I attempted to contact the office by phone call. When the person on the other line could not provide the information I requested he/she stated that he/she would have his/her supervisor call me back. I explained to him/her that although there were questions he/she could not answer, I still had and abundance of questions he/she could. He/she hung up on me anyway. Two weeks later, no supervisor had called. After that experience, I decided to stop by the office. When I asked to speak with someone in billing, the person at the desk stated that I should call an extension from a phone in the crowded waiting area. I am not sure what the intention was, but there is never any reason that a patient should have to discuss their protected health information in front of a crowded room. In fact, I feel that this was a violation of my HIPAA rights. I was furious, embarrassed, and I can assure you that after that experience, I don't care how nice the doctor is. I will never go back.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr. Yaffe has been my PCP for 25 years, back when his practice was solely on 84th street with Vera always by his side. Although the wait times were infuriating (even with the online check button) and the staff was often rude and impatient, I am thrilled to say my last experience was different. I was greeted by the same woman who has greeted me several times (will find her name and edit this review) this time she was friendly, smiled and made me feel welcome. While waiting, I looked around and noticed something different about the place and wondered what it was. As I was pondering this, my name was called and I was taken to see "dry". Walking through his eclectic office directly into his personal exam room/office, eliminating the formal uncomfortable office "chat" and getting right to work. Besides being one of the city's best physicians, he's also the most caring. Not only is he thorough, making you feel at ease and confident that all your medical needs and concerns are being addressed, he does all this while conducting his exam with his unique style. He had Kelsey, a young medical student with him for her last day. It's quite clear she has an exceptional career ahead of her and it is my hope that it will be along side Dr. Yaffe, he cares about his staff and I can only imagine how his guidance would benefit her. And how she would then benefit the practice. We love YOU "dry"!  Unfortunately, when I'm forced to come for a sick visit or prescription refill,  I have found some of the doctors in your staff to be rude and entitled. I have 2 doctors in particular that I refuse to see. They don't even fit with the atmosphere you and Dr. Ruden have worked so hard to create all these years. Upon my departure, as always, I'm reminded by dry to use the seat belt while traveling in a taxi. That advice always gets me and I hear his voice each time I get in a cab and smile to myself. To be his patient, you have to be 18 and over. I had my kids' files transferred and scheduled their first appointments a year before they turn/turned 18. There is no greater compliment/recommendation in the world than that!!  He is the best!  And Yaffe and Ruden are a great team! Quick shoutout to Karim Wahib, one of the PA's who has been very helpful to me and now my son with his expertise in orthopedics and sports injuries. Also Mary M, Joanie (referrals) and Luanne have always been helpful and very efficient. I eventually found out the reason the atmosphere was different,  Not only are the doctors at Yaffe Ruden & Associates constantly learning and striving to be the best and remain ahead of the curve with their knowledge but they are also working hard improving the patient experience. I for one appreciate that and noticed. I am confident with their continued dedication to patient care and all this technology, they'll get the wait times down to an acceptable range and get rid of the rude doctors and get in ones more like the original two.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr. Yaffe has been my Primary Care Physician for over twenty years, and Dr. Ruden has been my wife's PCP for about 5 years. We are both very satisfied with the care and we both have found the practice to be well run for its size. The PA's do a very good job and I rarely have a long wait time. My only quips are with the amount of forms and paperwork one has to repeatedly fill out (both digital and paper) upon arrival and getting through to a real voice on the phone, but I believe that is industry wide and not unique to this practice.

How was your experience with the doctor? After years of taking the good with the bad at Yaffe Ruden, I am finally done.  Some doctors there are fine, but I've had experiences with several different doctors whose bedside manner falls somewhere between dismissive and rude.  The final straw was the doctor who gave me unsolicited advice about the ineffectiveness of my (actually quite effective) birth control method, peppered with misinformation and sarcastic warnings.  It was off-topic and bizarre.  She may have intended to be funny, but it was just weird and invasive and kind of upsetting.  I wish it was the only time a doctor at Yaffe Ruden was strange or rude, but it happens with some regularity.  The cherry on top of all this was them screwing up calling in my prescription, resulting in an hour spent at the pharmacy waiting for them to convey the correct information.  During this time, the pharmacists at Rite Aid confided that they hear a lot of people with complaints about Yaffe Ruden and the way people are treated.  I'm done.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr. Yaffe is a super diagnostician and one of the best doctors in the city. I have only been to the 65th Street office, which is under a skylight, bright, energetic, sometimes crowded.  The big plus is that if you are really sick and need help, you can be seen the day you call - by one of the large staff of doctors and PAs.  If a specialist is needed, I have found (after being a patient for 20 years) that Yaffe-Ruden will recommend you to the very best.If you are looking for a more traditional atmosphere, I have heard that the uptown office is the place to try. iris

How was your experience with the doctor?I've been a patient of Dr. Yaffe's for about 15 years. Only once was he so busy that I had someone else do my physical. And in that instance, Dr. Yaffe did the 2nd half. It is a busy practice but you can text, IM or email any of the doctors and you get a quick response.Just this last Friday, i had a 5pm appt. Right before i arrived, according to the assistant, the doctor had asked where i was. Not being there at 4:55, the doctor promptly walked back to his office. I arrived a minute later, gave them a new insurance card and was whisked in. I did not wait at all. I have to the practice before and waiting in the waiting room, maximum 20 minutes. So not really different from other doctors.

How was your experience with the doctor?I've had mostly good experiences at Yaffe Ruden and Associates.  The staff has been very receptive to any difficulties I encountered and seemed to earnestly try to improve the situation. Firstly, they take almost every insurance invented by god and there are not many practices that can make that claim these days and none you would want to go to. Also, if I suddenly have a problem I can usually be put on the schedule that same day. I like that the clinic is located in a very convenient neighborhood if you live in Manhattan, it's near subways. And I like my doctor, Dr Yaffe. He's very organized and promptly answeres any inqueries or emails. You know he's smart but, you also sense his vast experience even though he claims he is only 34.

How was your experience with the doctor?I have been a patient of Dr Yaffe for probably 20 years. He is very, very smart and always aware of my history when I see him.  The practice is large, and yes, you do have to wait, but I find that I have to wait in every doctor's office that I visit.  I like the fact that the practice spreads over many specialties so if I need to see a specialist after my visit, I can usually just go down the hall and it is taken care of immediately.  This is a huge timesaver, and  the specialists I saw were competent and efficient.  Recently I complained about a hip problem when I was there for a routine blood test, and within  a half hour I had X-rays taken and was seen by the  orthopedic PA who was terrific.  This saved me a wait of at least several days to get an appointment with an outside orthopedist and probably 2-3 hours that I would have spent in the orthopedist's office as a new patient.I also really like their website, which makes it super easy to contact your primary care physician. Dr. Yaffe responds to my emails within a few hours and this is also a real time saver.  Sometimes I am not sure if I need to see a doctor , and he is very helpful in helping me determine how to proceed.I find the entire staff to be very helpful, and am surprised at comments  to the contrary.Medical practice has changed enormously over the last 20 years- there are no individual Marcus Welbys out there anymore making house calls, and it is unfair to expect a country doc in NYC.  But in terms of competency and fine medical care,Yaffe Ruden gets it right.

How was your experience with the doctor? After being a patient for nearly a decade, I am disappointed to write this review.  I had thought writing the review would make an impact of some sort, but looking at the other reviews, it appears they are not at all concerned.  I never had a problem seeing their PA's, because I often had a good experience.  When I had Dr. Barot as a primary physician, all was great.  However, when she went on maternity leave, the primary doctors I saw were worse (one year) and WORST (this year). The one this year had me rot for 2 hours waiting for the tech to come back to take my blood, because she couldn't find my vein.  But the final straw is the administrative staff - they leave A LOT to be desired...    From giving wrong information on everything from appointment times to doctor hours to when I need to come in and when I can get a referral.  I fell for it every time - and every time got disappointed.  Well after today's incident (sending me to the referral department, have me leave 3 messages, only at 5pm to find out that I need to come in and start over again before getting a referral...).  Today I will not be disappointed any longer - I am now in the market for a new primary care physician.  Any suggestions??

How was your experience with the doctor?WOW!!!!!!! That colonoscopy/endoscopy combo was great.  Did I really just type that? Yes I did.  I just shut the door, so to speak on 2 years of medical issues with my gut and I saw several gastro docs and had surgery too. Scopes with all of them. Some were torturous  and painful.  Before, during and after.  Not enough sedation, too much sedation, hours of waiting time.Confusing prep information.  After one endoscopy, I could not swallow for a week. Just brutal. Then I found Dr. Yaffe.  It all CHANGED.  He emails me back! He listens, he called my insurance company, he did not keep me waiting, he listened to me, he simplified my whole routine and got me up and running again.  Then to top it off, it turns out he has the most AMAZING system and process for these procedures.  The prep was simple. HIs instructions wise and full of good advice to get you through it. He has managed to make these procedures EASY, efficient and astonishingly fast.  I was in his office at 7:30 a.m and out by 9 a.m.I felt NO PAIN. I was treated like an adult human.  I was told as soon as I came to, that all was well.  What he looked for, what he blessedly did not find and then merrily sent on my way to have a good breakfast.  My husband went in 2 days later for a routine colonoscopy.  This was his 2nd in ten years.  When I went back to get him from Dr. Yaffe's recovery room, he was sitting there dressed and bright eyed.  He could not believe how easy it was. So yes I am giving Dr. Yaffe and his practice FIVE STARS for the system he has in place for these procedures.  I will NEVER be afraid of having this done again.  I dreaded everyone of them and with good reason. Not anymore.  It is clear Dr. Yaffe sees this from the patients perspective and has done everything possible to DO NO HARM.  Way to go Dr. Yaffe and thank you for everything.

How was your experience with the doctor? So I wish I could lower my score even further, but unfortunately 1 is the lowest possible score.  In my previous post I noted a lot of challenges we've had here, including the fact that Yaffe's misdiagnosed my wife's Uveitis as pink eye, coming dangerously close to permanently blinding her.Recently she went back because she's had a bad cold with pain in her sinuses, saw a PA since the only appt you can get is with a PA inside of 4 months.  The PA refused to prescribe her anything (she's pregnant), and ALSO refused any requests she made to just do a test or take a culture to make sure that it wasn't anything serious.   She literally had to argue with them to try and get them to diagnose or care for her in any way.The next day she contacted a friend who's husband is a doctor, she put her in touch with an ENT who helped them with a sinus infection.  Yesterday the results came in, and it turns out that my wife has Strep that has spread to her sinuses.  While she should be okay, if you know anything about this you know the risk of strep in the sinus cavity is a brain infection.I don't really think it's possible for me to drive home how dangerously incompetent this practice is.  If you need ANY kind of real medical care (other than an immunization) I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.  Yaffe's diagnostic capabilities are extremely poor, the care isn't even second rate, and you literally are not safe in their hands.

How was your experience with the doctor? This is a huge, completely chaotic practice. Some of the doctors are fine, some are heinous. The same must be said of the front desk. I have been scheduled with the wrong doctor twice. Had to wait up to four weeks for the practice to call my pharmacy with an authorization (even though the pharmacy was repeatedly calling them, the person in charge was "just too busy.") They are 100 percent guaranteed to lose your records. Also, they won't call for pre-authorization even if your insurance company cooperates. You have to ask yourself if you really trust your medical care to a practice that screws up your medical records that much.

How was your experience with the doctor?I don't really know how to write this review.  Is Dr. Yaffe distracted due to healthcare in America today? or is he just distracted?  During the course of my *maybe* five minute visit (which started over 45 minutes late), he answered a bunch of emails from patients, took phone calls from patients, he threw a lot of information at me including a way to take a drug (which I questioned and then he said, well we don't have to do that, we can do it this way - I never did find out what he actually recommended in the end), He prides himself on being available by email which is a plus, unless you're the patient in his presence, looking for some real answers in person. I suspect he's a decent doctor but a good listener he is not and he's really not interested in helping you per se.  When I needed a refill for a prescription I could either go get one from his office or have the pharmacy call him.  There was a problem with my insurance so I've been coordinating the insurance/pharmacy, etc. - his office doesn't initiate these types of things.  I've never had this experience with a doctor who accepts insurance, expecting Oxford to pick up the phone and work it out or... I don't even know what.  I know I'm supposed to be on a medication and to go off it I'll be sick but he's given me no answer other than "you need to call your insurance" to resolve a paperwork issue.  Perhaps it's the wave of the future; or perhaps it's his practice.  But ultimately, I'm looking for a different GI doctor because we were not a good match.

How was your experience with the doctor?I've been to both Yaffe Ruden offices (65th & 84th Sts) and here's what I recommend:- Go to 65th St. for same day or easy (e.g., flu shot) appointments. They have so many folks there they can pretty much always see you that day.- Go to 84th St. for booked-in-advance appointments.  It's smaller, not as fancy and there are no computers you can use while waiting like at the 65th St. office, but it's more personal.I love Dr. Bikhman at the 84th St. office. She did the most thorough annual physical I've had in my life, really listened to everything I had to say, did not have any "I'm the doctor" attitude, and even gave me free samples (Rx nasal spray and decongestant) to save me $ before I left.  Two weeks later I got a call from an assistant who gave me the most detailed lab results I've ever gotten over the phone, along with a recommendation on add'l vitamins I should be taking.I also really liked Dr. St. Claire (saw him at the 65th St. office), he spent a lot of time with me to try to figure out what was wrong when I hadn't been feeling well and was a real human being. The only reason I give Yaffe Ruden 4-stars is I don't feel like I got the best Rx for strep the first time I came in (saw a PA in the 65th St. office).  After talking to a bunch of docs and even another PA in the same office, it's not really clear if that was the best Rx or not, but when I asked abt it I didn't really feel like the 1st PA listened. But I'll be back.  Dr. Bikhman and Dr. St. Claire were great and that's enough for me :).

How was your experience with the doctor?I personally love DR Kakolous. I feel like I am talking to a girlfriend.  She really listens and is very through.  I like how she does not push prescriptions on you , she focuses on exercise and vitamins. My husband and I feel very comfortable with her. I also have seen Dr Yaffe and I was not thrilled with his bedside manner. I felt he was rushing me and not listening and has that "I am DR hear me roar" sort of personality.  I say go to the 84th street location, the other one feels very crowded and clinic like. They also are always running late.

How was your experience with the doctor?Probably one of the most bureaucratic, unfriendly doctors offices I've ever been to, not only in NY but anywhere. As a 20-something that moved here a couple years ago, I don't frequently visit the doctor but have been on the hunt for good doctors for a while. I was referred to this place by a co-worker who said this place was one of the biggest and has been around forever. The first time I went, the receptionist and support staff were so unfriendly, they didn't care two cents. I saw a PA who had the same passive attitude, couldn't care less when I told her what my symptoms were, my history etc. Just typed away in the computer without looking at me once. Finally saw a doctor for physical who was fine but nothing to yell home about. Was constantly fielding calls-apparently, they take care of Alec Baldwin there. Second time I went, waited OVER an hour, saw another unfriendly PA. Quick to diagnose and shoo me out. They are the complete epitome of ueverything that is wrong with the US health care system. Am adamantly trying to find a new doctor.

How was your experience with the doctor? The glitz of their showy website should be the first warning that they are more interested in self-promotion than actual medical care. I ended up going here because my regular doctor was out and I was in excruciating pain. Someone suggested them as they are so large and would see me that day. What a waste of time and money. The PA I saw listened to my symptoms and before I even finished decided what she thought was wrong with me. Then she asked if she should examine me. What kind of question was that? I showed her where the pain was and the mass I felt and she was like, oh, that's nothing, you just need some cream and you'll be fine. I will see if I can get the dr in here but she's v. busy. Bad service and no bedside manner either. She was v. young and v. clueless. She must have told the dr her theory because the dr walked in and just started spewing her ideas of what I should do because she assumed the PA was correct. I kept telling her, as I had the PA, that it was NOT what they were thinking, this was something I never experienced before, there WAS a mass under my skin and it needed to be examined. The dr herself asked if she wanted me to examine her. I've never been to a dr's office where this wasn't something a dr didn't do normally. She finally did examine me and said that there seemed to be "some inflammation" but that was all. She kept to her PA's theory and all I needed was some cream. Well, I was in more agony that night, and by the next day I could barely move. I ended up in the ER and to make a long story short I had to have surgery to remove a nice size abscess. Every dr that looked at me in the ER felt it straight away and they put me on morphine the moment after they examined me because of the pain. They asked why I hadn't got to the dr sooner, and I said I did, yesterday, when the pain started and they told me nothing was there. They were in shock as you couldn't miss it. So, stay away from this place if you want to avoid pain and suffering. If I had been diagnosed on Friday, I would have been in the hospital directly, had the surgery and avoided extra days of pain and misery.

How was your experience with the doctor?I had an emergency but it was not enough to warrant an ER visit so I waited until 8 am the next day.  I was on hold for about 15 minutes, but was able to get an appointment with a PA and and internist at 10:45am!!  Plus my doctor, Dr. St. Claire was kind, thorough, and answered all my questions to reassure my crazy neurotic self.

How was your experience with the doctor?Funky, non-officey lobby is a plus. They run a tight ship and you can check the status of your specific doctor online before you go to see if they are running late! Pretty cool. I was taken in quickly for blood work and then met my guy, Dr. St. Claire. He was professional, relaxed, and kind. They called me back with my blood work results in less than a week. Great place.

How was your experience with the doctor? You could spend the entire day, even week here. The doctors are wonderful, and caring. They have a great team of doctors for every little ache and pain in your body. I am a little afraid of one of the secretary's but, waiting playing on the free Internet access makes it all better.
