My main reason is not to write this review regarding Dr. Brill's bedside manners (although she is definitely not on my list of friendly or helpful doctors), but rather as the office as a whole. Two months after my annual checkup, I received a hefty bill from my healthcare provider for a medical device prescribed from Dr. Brill - although this is not a device that I had ever discussed with the doctor, or even a device that I could utilize as a patient due to other medical conditions. As a matter of fact, during my annual appointment with Dr. Brill, we discussed how this was not an option given my medical history. Upon calling Dr. Brill's office to dispute the charge, I was told that I ordered the device, and was in possession of it, both of which were completely untrue. I can only think that this device was charged to me in error, but rather than working with me to identify the source of the error and correct the problem, the doctor's office insisted that I was in possession of the device.
I continued to receive monthly bills from my healthcare provider charging me for the device, and every month my healthcare provider would contact Dr. Brill's office with no avail. In the end, Dr. Brill's office did return the device to the healthcare provider months later (apparently they WERE in possession of it, after all), and my healthcare provider waived the bill and co-pay (as they could clearly see from my medical history that this is not something that would ever be prescribed to me, although the doctor kept insisting that I requested the device to be ordered).
I understand that mistakes happen, but the fact that the doctor's office would not work with me to fix a problem that initiated on their end completely turned me off. Not to mention, I couldn't believe that two months after my annual appointment, I was prescribed a device that could be harmful to my health (as DISCUSSED with Dr. Brill during my appointment). This does not give me great comfort that care is taken to properly assess patients. I have since found a new doctor who pays better attention to detail - health is not an area that should be taken lightly.
