Dr. Jo A. Hannafin is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. She is Director of the Women's Sports Medicine Center at Hospital for Special Surgery. She was a USOC physician for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic, and is the Head Team Physician for the WNBA New York Liberty and a Team Physician for the U.S. Rowing Team. Dr. Hannafin won a silver medal in lightweight double at the 1984 World Rowing Championships and three gold medals at the U.S. National Rowing Championships. Dr. Hannafin is a Past-President of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the first woman to hold that role. She will serve as a member of the Board until 2016.
