Dr Guerrero recently returned to SA after practicing dermatology for 11 years in the Army. After completing her dermatology residency training in SA at Brooke Army Medical Center, she was chosen to be 1 of only 2 dermatologists assigned to Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Dr. Guerrero had a very successful 2-year tour in Virginia where she not only cared for dermatology patients of all ages but also taught family practice & internal medicine doctors how to care for folks with skin disease and skin concerns. In 2009, while still at Fort Belvoir, Dr. Guerrero deployed to Afghanistan as a Brigade Surgeon supporting 1st Infantry Division troops based out of Fort Hood Texas. Upon her return, the Army recognized her outstanding clinical care and teaching ability and selected her to work as a dermatologist at Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, she served patients from all over the Pacific and continued her active teaching role to the family practice and internal medicine residents training at Tripler. During her Army career, Dr. Guerrero became an expert in treating the most complicated of dermatology patients and a master in phototherapy, allergy patch testing, laser therapy and botulinum toxin. Dr. Guerrero completed her Army career at Tripler in Hawaii in June 2016 and chose SA to be home for her and her family. Dr. Guerrero enjoys all aspects of dermatology and looks forward to caring for you with expertise, compassion and the latest in medical science.
