Dr. Sid Mandelbaum has been in practice in New York since 1986. After receiving a BA from Columbia University he received his MD from Yale Medical School in 1976. He completed residency in Ophthalmology at Los Angeles County – USC Medical Center and fellowship in Corneal Diseases and Surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. After his fellowship, he was invited to join the full-time faculty there and was involved in treating complex corneal conditions. After five years, he moved to New York, where he has been in practice since. Dr. Mandelbaum is currently on the staff of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System, and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. He is actively involved in the New York Eye Bank, and was a previous chairman of the Academy of Ophthalmology’s Preferred Practice committee.
