Dr. Briner is a sports medicine physician specializing in the treatment of acute and overuse injuries in active patients. Board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Briner completed his medical school training at The Ohio State University; Family Medicine residency at MacNeal Hospital in Illinois; and Sports Medicine fellowship at Marshall University where he served as a team physician for the Thundering Herd. Dr. Briner has served as a team physician for the New York Lizards, WNBA Chicago Sky, US National Soccer Teams, and several high school and college teams as well. He is currently the Head Team Physician for the US National Volleyball Teams, in addition to chairing the Sports Medicine and Performance Commission for USA Volleyball. For several years, he has been a member of the Medical Commission of the FIVB, Volleyball's international governing body, where he was selected as Beach Volleyball Medical Delegate to the London Olympics.
