How was your experience with the doctor?Dr. William Martin has been my primary care physician for over twelve years. He is a thoughtful, compassionate doctor who listens with a clear professional interest in helping his patients through thick and thin. This is all evidenced by the results: I am always treated with respect, care and professionalism anytime I call or go in for an appointment. He has a humble, pleasant bedside manner and I would recommend him to anyone living or working in NYC.Thank you, Dr.!

How was your experience with the doctor?Luck of the draw--Best MD i have ever had. He inherited me from a retiring MD 20 years ago.Thoughtful (as in thinking before diagnoses and being kind.Thorough.Your appointment times are respected. The finest medical care I have ever received.  Although I understand that  first appointment might entail a long wait, after then appointments are made very soon after your call.

How was your experience with the doctor?I'm a newbie here but I've been to see Dr. Martin twice already.  His staff is very friendly and accommodating.  My first visit I walked in without an appointment to be treated for pink eye.  I was seen within 10 minutes.  Dr. Martin was quick and thorough at the same time.  He asked me all the important questions.  Did all the quick exams (eyes, ears, throat, inhale, exhale).   He assessed the situation told me not to worry and sent a prescription in to the nearest pharmacy.  The entire visit was less than 30 minutes and I didn't feel rushed at any time.My second visit there was by appointment which I made earlier that day.  Same friendly faces.  Oh except Dr. Martin.  I forgot to mention he doesn't smile.  But that doesn't bother me none.  Very convenient Midtown location.  And never a long wait.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr, Martin has been my internist for about 23 years.  He diagnosed my diverticulitis (for which I had to have surgery, ultimately), has treated me for various and sundry viruses and flu, has done my yearly checkups, and has always called me when I try to reach him from home with questions about whatever is going on with me.  I have sent my husband to him, as well as clients and friends.  I find him to be low-key, a good listener, and a calming presence.  My husband and I are moving out-of-state, and I felt a real sense of loss when saying goodbye to Dr. Martin.  He's also a dog lover, so that automatically makes him a good guy in my book.  If you're looking for a good internist, I highly recommend Dr. William Martin.  His office staff has been consistently lovely over the many years I have been a patient.

How was your experience with the doctor?Dr Martin is one of the best general doctor's I've been to.  I've been going to his practice for almost 8 years.  Contrary to previous reviews I think Dr Martin cares a lot about his patients.  He always knows my history when I come in and I never feel like I have to repeat myself.  He may be a bit quiet but he is friendly and professional, the perfect NY doctor who gets right to the point.  The office is quick and efficient.  The staff is always friendly and they always find an appointment for me if I need to come in on short notice.  I would recommend him to others (and have been for years).

How was your experience with the doctor?I've been a patient of Dr. Martin's for many years.   I found Dr. Martin when one of my colleague's recommended him to me.   Aside from the fact that he is a very nice individual and down to earth (he shares stories about his dog), he is a no-nonsense doctor and calls it as he sees it.  He doesn't waste your time sending you for unnecessary tests (the way some doctor's do) but won't poo-poo an illness if it sounds worthy of checking into it further.  His office staff is quite nice and responsive as well.  Virtually no wait every time I go.  Dr. Martin is now completely automated and his office has gone GREEN so if I need a prescription when I'm there, no paper required!!  He sends the info electronically to my pharmacy!   Likely, I will keep Dr. Martin as my physician for years to come....... and now I recommend my colleagues to him!!

How was your experience with the doctor? Most people write doctor reviews on Yelp and Google when they have a negative experience with a doctor. So I'm here to write about my positive experiences with Dr. Martin.I've been a patient of Dr. Martin's since I moved to the city in 2008 and I would recommend him to other people. The Doctor: Dr. Martin is a friendly and experienced. Every time I've met with him he was familiar with my record and prepared to provide the necessary care. I have never had to wait long before seeing the doctor (at most ten minutes). Also, I've always been able to schedule an appointment on short notice whenever I'm not feeling well. The Staff: Experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable. You can count on them to do their jobs, which is REALLY important. The Office: Clean and comfortable.

How was your experience with the doctor?I had my first appointment with Dr. Martin yesterday for a physical checkup and I think he spent a total of 5 minutes max in the room with me. He didn't seem very interested in getting to know me as a patient or listen to my concerns. The nurse did most of the work and she was very nice and cheerful. A lot more talkative than Dr. Martin. That may have been her downfall though as when she was taking my blood, she wasn't paying attention and pulled the needle out of my arm as she was walking away and blood squirted out everywhere! Now I understand this was an accident, I wasn't mad, I was just shocked, it's never happened to me before. She tried to put the needle back in the same vein/arm but she couldn't get it in so she goes to my other arm, finds a vein, starts drawing blood and what do you know? Blood squirting everywhere again! REALLY??? AGAIN??? PAY ATTENTION!!! She tried to put the needle back into the vein and couldn't so she had to go get her manager to do it and the manager was none to happy to have to come and draw my blood. I would recommend people to look elsewhere for a doctor, find someone who will actually take the time to listen to you and give a damn, and that has a better staff of nurses in their office. I will NOT be returning back for a second visit!

How was your experience with the doctor?Staff is horrible.  With Dr. Martin on vacation, I tried to get a referral to an orthopedic doctor after a fairly serious hand injury.  VERY RUDE.  First referred me to a doctor who doesn't take my insurance.  Then I had to find other doctor listings for them so they could pick one off of that list for me.  The one they picked is also on vacation, and when I tried to ask about my options for having another one recommended, I was told "That's who we picked.  If you don't like it, you're welcome to go to another PPO doctor and change offices."  Overtalked me after that, telling me I'm free to choose another doctor at my "discrepancy.".  UNBELIEVABLE.

How was your experience with the doctor? It's no secret that jews are hypochondriacs - myself included.Dr. Martin (who I don't think is Jewish, regardless) is the perfect physician for me - he has the calmest bedside manor I've ever encountered in a physician.I can recall one instance where I made an appointment and arrived freaking out.  Let's just having *that* burning sensation is really unsettling and I feared the worst.  Dr. Martin did a great job of calming me down and talking some sense into me.  It turned out that all I had was a UTI anyways, but he made sure I walked out with a scrip for a Z-pack to get rid of it.  This is probably way too candid for a Yelp review.  Next time we can talk about my menstrual cycle maybe?Making appointments is easy because Dr. Martin's office staff are organized and on top of it.  Dr. Martin will always fit you in if something is urgent, which was great for the instance above.  He will also personally consult you, either in person or phone, for test results, bloodwork, etc.  I appreciate his personalized care and recommend him to all of my friends.
